If there are any terms in this privacy notice that you do not agree with, please discontinue use of our Services immediately. 1. Account Registration

To access and use the core features of The Society App, you must first create an account. Account Responsibility You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, you must notify us immediately at [support@thesociety.app]. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your profile and contact details up to date at all times. Eligibility Requirements Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years old to use The Society App. We do not knowingly allow individuals under 18 to register or access the platform. Authorized Use: If you are creating or managing an account on behalf of a business, organization, or other legal entity, you confirm that you have the authority to act on its behalf and to bind that entity to these terms. Accounts found to be in violation of these requirements may be suspended or terminated in accordance with our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines

2. Use of the Service

By using The Society App, you agree to use the platform responsibly and in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and our Community Guidelines. Prohibited Conduct You agree not to engage in any of the following activities: Illegal Activity: Violating any local, state, national, or international laws or infringing on the rights of others, including intellectual property, privacy, and publicity rights. Harmful or Inappropriate Content: Uploading, posting, or sharing content that is unlawful, harmful, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable. Harassment and Abuse: Harassing, stalking, bullying, impersonating, or threatening any individual or group. Unauthorized Automation or Access: Using bots, scrapers, crawlers, spiders, or any form of automated access; attempting to reverse engineer or disrupt any part of the Service. Security Interference: Attempting to bypass, disable, or interfere with the integrity, functionality, or security of the platform, its systems, or users. Enforcement We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these terms, abuse the platform, or pose a risk to other users or our systems.

3. Content and Ownership

We respect your rights and privacy. Here’s how we handle your information and content: How We Share Your Information We may share your information in the following ways: With Other Users: Depending on your privacy settings, your profile and content may be visible to others on the platform. With Service Providers: We use trusted providers for services like hosting, AI tools, analytics, moderation, customer support, and more. These partners only access information needed to perform their work and must follow strict confidentiality agreements. With Payment Processors: To process purchases or transactions you initiate. With Law Enforcement or Government Authorities: When required by law, to comply with legal processes, or to protect our rights, safety, or that of others. As Part of Business Changes: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that process. With Your Consent: In any situation where you’ve given explicit permission for us to share specific information. We do not sell your personal information. We also respect browser-based Do Not Sell or Share My Info signals where legally required. Content Ownership & Licensing You always retain ownership of the content you create and post on the platform. By uploading or sharing content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, host, store, display, reproduce, publish, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving our services. This includes showcasing your posts in feeds, search results, or promotional materials. We do not claim ownership of your content, and this license ends when you delete your content or your account, unless your content has been shared, saved, or reposted by others. Responsibility for Content You must only post content that you have the legal right to share. You’re responsible for ensuring your content does not infringe on the rights of others, including copyrights, trademarks, or privacy rights. If you believe your rights have been violated, you can report content or file a complaint through our support team at support@thesociety.app.

4. AI and Generative Features

The Society App includes AI-powered tools such as language assistants, auto-replies, and image or content generation capabilities. Important Information About AI Tools As-Is Use: AI-generated content is provided “as is” and without warranties of any kind. Results may vary and are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or appropriate. No Professional Advice: AI tools are not a substitute for professional advice (legal, medical, financial, etc.) and should not be relied upon as such. Responsible Use: You are responsible for any content you generate or share using AI tools. Use must comply with our Community Guidelines, Terms of Service, and all applicable laws and regulations. Content Accuracy & Safety: While we strive to minimize bias, harm, or misinformation, AI-generated outputs may still reflect inaccuracies or inappropriate material. We encourage user discretion and reporting of harmful or misleading content. No Ownership of AI Outputs: You may use the AI-generated content you create for personal or commercial purposes, but The Society App retains the right to use anonymized or de-identified outputs to improve services, unless you opt out where available. AI Limitations Notice: Use of generative AI is experimental and continually evolving. Your feedback helps us improve safety and performance.

5. Payments and Subscriptions

The Society App offers premium features available through in-app purchases and subscriptions. How Payments Work Secure Processing: All payments are securely processed through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or a trusted third-party payment processor. We do not store your full credit card number or CVV. Data Collected: We may collect limited transactional data, such as your billing address, transaction date, plan type, and status, solely for verification, support, and compliance purposes. Subscriptions & Renewals Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Managing Subscriptions: You can manage or cancel your subscription directly through your app store account settings (Apple or Google Play). Refunds and billing terms are governed by the policies of the store where you made your purchase. Terms at Checkout: Subscription pricing, features, and duration will be clearly disclosed before you complete your purchase. 6. Third-Party Services

The Society App may integrate with or provide links to third-party services, including (but not limited to) platforms such as YouTube, payment processors, AI APIs, and educational resources like Coursera. Important Disclaimers Independent Services: These third-party services are governed by their own terms of service and privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, data practices, or operations. No Endorsement: Links to external platforms are provided for convenience or informational purposes only. The inclusion of any third-party content or service does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation with The Society App. User Responsibility: When you interact with third-party services through our platform, you do so at your own discretion. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies and terms before engaging with them. 7. Security

We take the security of your information seriously. Our Safeguards We implement industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, secure server infrastructure, and access controls, to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure. While we continuously work to safeguard our platform, we cannot fully eliminate all risks. Your Role in Security You play a vital role in keeping your account secure: Use strong, unique passwords. Enable device-level protections such as biometric authentication or screen locks. 8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to The Society App at our discretion, including (but not limited to) if you: Violate these Terms of Service or our Community Guidelines Engage in unlawful, abusive, or harmful behavior Pose a risk to the safety, integrity, or functionality of the platform In certain cases, we may provide notice prior to termination; however, we are not obligated to do so in urgent or severe circumstances (e.g., fraud, harassment, or legal violations). User-Initiated Termination You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion: Your profile will no longer be visible to other users. Some information, such as messages or content shared with others, may remain visible or stored as permitted by law or for operational integrity. We may retain certain data to meet legal or regulatory obligations, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. 9. Disclaimers and Limitations

Service Provided "As Is" The Society App and all related features are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind express, implied, or statutory. This includes, but is not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components. Use of the platform is at your own risk. Limitation of Liability To the fullest extent permitted by law: We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages including loss of profits, data, reputation, or business opportunities arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total cumulative liability to you for any claims related to the Service will not exceed the greater of $100 USD or the total amount you paid to us in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or the exclusion of certain damages, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. You agree that any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of The Society App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state or federal courts located in Hartford County, Connecticut, and you waive any objections to venue or jurisdiction in those courts.

11. Update Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, features, legal requirements, or other operational needs. If we make material changes, we will notify you by in-app message, email, or other reasonable means before the changes take effect. Your continued use of The Society App after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information. The date of the most recent update will always be posted at the top of the policy.

12. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use The Society App: 1. Information You Provide Directly Account Details: Name, email, username, password, phone number, date of birth, and other registration information. Profile Information: Profile photo, display name, biography, location (city/state), profession, interests, skills, and any additional information you choose to add. Content You Post: Text, images, videos, comments, likes, replies, and any other content or communications you generate on the platform. Payment & Subscription Data: If you make purchases, we collect transaction details such as plan type, payment method (processed by third parties), and billing information (excluding full card numbers or CVV). Contact Information: If you contact support, participate in surveys, or request features, we may collect those communications. 2. Information We Collect Automatically Usage Data: Pages viewed, features used, actions taken, search queries, engagement with content, and frequency of use. Device Information: Device type, operating system, browser type, mobile carrier, screen size, and crash reports. Log Data: IP address, app version, access times, and referring URLs. Location Data: With your permission, we may collect your device’s precise or approximate location to enhance features like local discovery, search, or recommendations. 3. Information from Third Parties Linked Accounts: If you connect external services (e.g., Google, Apple, Facebook), we may receive account and profile data as permitted by those platforms. Third-Party Content or Services: We may collect or receive information when you interact with third-party integrations (e.g., payment processors, embedded media, or Coursera links). 4. AI-Related Activity If you use our AI-powered tools (e.g., GPT-based responses, image generation), we may collect the prompts you enter and the content you generate. This data is used to improve the feature and is never sold or used to train models without your permission.

13. Anti Bullying 

Effective Date: January 2025 Last Updated: June 2025 At The Society App, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for everyone. We do not tolerate bullying, harassment, hate speech, or any form of abusive behavior, whether direct or indirect. This policy applies to all users and to all parts of the app, including: Public posts, comments, and replies Private or group messages AI-generated content or prompts Profile names, bios, and images Videos, live sessions, and community events What We Prohibit We prohibit the following behaviors and content: Harassment, threats, intimidation, or cyberbullying Hate speech targeting race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics Doxxing (sharing personal or private information without consent) Stalking or repeated unwanted contact Content that encourages self-harm, suicide, or violence Use of AI or platform tools to generate harmful, misleading, or targeted content against individuals or groups Reporting & Enforcement We provide in-app tools to report violations quickly and easily. You can report: Posts, comments, or replies User profiles or bios Messages or media shared in chat Behavior during live sessions or events All reports are reviewed by our moderation team. Based on the severity and history of violations, we may take the following actions: Content removal Warnings or temporary restrictions Permanent account suspension or banning Referral to law enforcement when necessary We reserve the right to act without prior notice in cases of serious violations. Appeals Process If you believe your content or account was removed in error, you may appeal the decision by contacting us at support@thesociety.app. We review all appeals fairly and aim to respond within 7 business days. Our Commitment to Safety We use both human moderators and automated systems (including AI tools) to detect and prevent harmful behavior across the platform. Our systems are continuously improved based on evolving threats and user feedback. We also comply with applicable safety and content laws, including: The Digital Services Act (EU) The Online Safety Act (UK) U.S. CCPA/CPRA and child protection guidelines App store policies (Apple/Google) If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or crisis, we encourage you to contact local authorities or mental health support services.

What We Expect To keep The Society App a safe, supportive, and empowering space, we expect all users to:
Respect Others Treat everyone with kindness, dignity, and respect both in public and private spaces. Do not post, share, or promote hate, harassment, or content meant to harm, exploit, or intimidate others. Contribute Positively Use the platform to connect, collaborate, and share your knowledge, skills, or passions in meaningful ways. Encourage and uplift others. Celebrate differences and help foster inclusive dialogue. Stay Honest & Authentic Share truthful, original content and avoid impersonating others. Don’t mislead, manipulate, or spread misinformation  including through AI tools, comments, or interactions. Protect Privacy Respect the personal data, boundaries, and consent of others. Do not share anyone’s private information (including photos, names, or messages) without their permission. Follow the Rules Comply with our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, and applicable laws. Use the platform as intended no spamming, illegal activity, or attempts to interfere with the app’s operations or security. Together, We Set the Tone Your presence on The Society App shapes the community we’re building. If you see something that violates these values, report it. We review all reports and take appropriate action to protect the community. Let’s build something better together.

How We Enforce This Policy We take violations of our policies seriously. Our goal is to protect our users, maintain a respectful community, and enforce accountability consistently and fairly. Detection & Monitoring We use a combination of: Automated systems (including AI) to detect harmful or suspicious behavior Human moderators who review flagged content User reports to identify violations We continually update our tools and review processes to keep pace with evolving risks and improve accuracy. What Happens When Rules Are Broken If a user violates our policies, we may take one or more of the following actions depending on the severity and frequency: Warning: For minor or first-time violations Content Removal: Posts, comments, or other material may be deleted Feature Restrictions: Temporary limits on messaging, posting, or live access Account Suspension or Ban: Permanent removal for repeated or severe violations Reporting to Authorities: In cases involving credible threats, illegal activity, or safety risks, we may escalate to law enforcement Appeals Process If you believe an action was taken in error, you have the right to appeal. Contact support@thesociety.app with details, and we’ll review the case. We aim to respond to all appeals within 7-14 business days. User Involvement Our community plays a key role in keeping The Society App safe. You can: Report inappropriate content or behavior using in-app tools Block users who violate your boundaries Contact our safety team directly at support@thesociety.app for urgent issues We Enforce with Purpose We don't just remove content, we educate, intervene, and, when possible, help users return to the platform in good standing. Enforcement is about protecting the community and upholding the standards that keep The Society App empowering for everyone.

Minor Protection Although The Society App is designed for users 18 years of age or older, we take additional steps to ensure that anyone underage is not exposed to or able to access content that is inappropriate, unsafe, or exploitative. No Use by Individuals Under 18 Users must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use The Society App. We may use age verification measures or request identification to confirm age if needed. Accounts believed to be used by minors will be reviewed and may be suspended or removed.  Safety-First Approach Even though minors are not permitted on the platform, we take the following actions to protect vulnerable individuals and support legal compliance: We prohibit all content that depicts, promotes, or encourages the exploitation or endangerment of minors, including grooming, sexualization, or abuse directly or indirectly. We report suspected child exploitation or illegal activity to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and appropriate law enforcement agencies, as required by law. Detection & Response AI and moderation tools are used to flag inappropriate content or suspicious behavior. Community reports are reviewed quickly by our safety team. Any user attempting to target, impersonate, or harm minors or posing as one will be banned immediately and reported. Our Legal & Ethical Commitment We comply with all relevant child safety laws and regulations, including: COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, U.S.) CSAM regulations and global reporting requirements App store age restrictions (Apple & Google) If you believe a minor is using the platform or has been harmed, please report it immediately to support@thesociety.app.
